Recital Hall

“One of the City’s Best Venues”

Our Recital Hall is popular with piano teachers and musical groups where a top-quality piano is central to performance. A concert-level grand piano is on stage as standard at all times. On special request we can put two grands on stage, or add professional uprights and Clavinova digital pianos on the floor for group performance or master classes.

Maurice (“Moe”) and Cathy Traylor Unis are underwriters for “Classics & Croissants,” a series of concerts and master classes presented by internationally renowned pianists. Recent artists have included Eric Himy and Sara Davis Buechner—both graduates of the Juilliard School of Music and praised in major newspapers and music publications including The New York Times.

Classic Pianos has also partnered with KMHD, hosting a series of concerts entitled, “George Fendel Presents.” Artists have included Alan Broadbent, Rebecca Kilgore, Dave Frishberg, Dan Barrett, and many others. Additionally, Classic Pianos has co-sponsored concerts with Portland Jazz through a series of special venues in the Recital Hall.

The Recital Hall has been engineered for ideal sound and recording properties. It is fully air conditioned, seating 100 guests in padded chairs.

Gino Vannelli recently recorded a song in our Recital Hall as a fund-raising effort for a local young soldier, Jeff Lucas. For more information or to view the recording, click here.
