Classic Pianos' and the Unis family's commitment to the Portland community runs deep

Learn about the rich history of Classic Pianos’ Guest House! Read the 2005 Portland Tribute article to the right to learn about how Classic Pianos’ founder, Maurice Unis, saved a piece of Portland history by hauling an early 20th-century Episcopalian church across the Ross Island bridge in two pieces and relocating it in the Brooklyn neighborhood that serves as Classic Pianos’ home.

Although the Classic Pianos’ Guest House (known affectionately as the “Church House”) was slated for demolition, the Unis family instead saved the 1912 Arts and Crafts chapel by moving it and restoring its beauty. Now it can be your temporary haven while you enjoy a unique shopping experience while you select your dream piano from our extensive, curated inventory.

"We're able to save a piece of the history of Portland and add to the Brooklyn neighborhood. Doesn't it fit our city well?"

— Maurice Unis, Classic Pianos' founder
